Great Atlantic Warranty should go out of business
I got a call from Great Atlantic Warranty recently when I just went thru 2 defective fix with my Passat. The girl asked me what makes Passat, and this was my first suspicion that they've never worked with VW. I told her I'll need to check with my dealership, at which point she said this was a final courtesey call. Then, I agreed to talk to their "Support Manager". He got down my CC information but, not my VIN since my VIN# was in the car and I refused to go into my car to look. Before I called him back, I checked with my dealership and it's not thru them, and my coverage is still good until 2013. I immediately called my CC company to be issued a differen card#. Nothing was charged in my CC. In any case, if anyone want to harrass them, I have 2 phone#s for you: Account Manager: Michael Mcgroaty: 1-86*-716-**** Support #: 1-86*-386-**** Mom in CA

Cold-called my cell phone, hung up on me
I received a computerized call on my cell phone claiming that my vehicle warranty had expired. The nature of the call and fact that they didn't mention a manufacturer or the type of my car made me quite suspicious (and a bit pissed off). I pressed 1 to speak with a representative who said "warranty department" and asked for the VIN number of my car. I said, "warranty department of what company." He seemed surprised and said, "this is GAW." "What's GAW," I asked. That's when he hung up on me. These people are crooks and should be shut down.

Great atlantic warranty sucks!!!!
I bought an extended car warranty and thought it was great but RANDY WEBB in boca raton,fl; the guy who sold it to me was very deceitful and never returns my calls. It turns out when you call the 1-88*-858-**** it doesn't take you to a servcie rep just an answering service that is in a totally different state and all they do is pass a message along and guess what i never get a call back!!!!! I can't get a hold of anybody never!!! I want to cancel my warranty but i can't because nobody will return my messages. DON'T buy from them all they really know is how to take your money and *** you off!!!!

Great Atlantic Warranty Rip-off
I decided to go with their warranty program in October of 2007. Within the three day period, I called to cancel the warranty, realizing that I had made a bad choice. I sent back everything they asked for and was assured that I would receive my money back. I am still waiting. It is April 2008. I call every week, several times a week and often I am put on hold, leave messages, or am just disconnected. I don't know what to do now. I suspect that I will never see a dime back of my $850 down-payment. I am so glad I did not give them all of it. Please be aware. This is not a good company to deal with. Great Atlantic Warranty
It was a high pressure phone call I received and I went with it without doing research, so I began to panic after reading some of the reviews. $400 down, $100 a month for 17 months. I thought it was a good idea since I am a poor college student with a 2001 American car with 103k miles and I wouldnt be able to afford $500-$1000+ emergency repair. Im beginning to think they are not a scam though. The sales guy gave me his full name and direct number to contact him if I ever have any problems. I recently received a letter in the mail from Great Atlantic telling me to expect my warranty paperwork/package soon. Maybe a week later I received a small box which includes a couple supplements you add to your radiator, some battery terminal protectors, an oil change coupon, a booklet which explains my warranty services and a warranty card with all my information on it (including my name, car, mileage, expiration date, make-a-claim phone number) from a company called Consumer Direct Warranty Services. I googled this company and didn't find any negative reviews! I am not an employee at Great Atlantic and I plan on updating this review after I file my first claim. That will be the ultimate test to see if these guys are a scam. Until next time! ps - I can post pics of all this stuff they sent me if you don't believe I'm not an employer.

Calling me too much
Great Atlantic Warramty auto warranty. They call me ALL THE TIME! Usually, I press 3 to be removed from their list. Additionally, I've been on the DO NOT CALL list for over2 years. Some evenings, they have called me three times - in a single night! Sometimes, I press one to speak to an operator and ask to be removed from their list. They expect me to give them 2640$ over the phone! When I ask which car has an expiring warranty, they ask me for a VIN. I ask them which car has an expiring warranty. They use scare tactics to sell. They also call my cell phone which is also on a do not call list, plus I've asked them repeatedly not to waste my cell minutes and interrupt my nights.

F*#% Great Atlantic Warranty
I've been getting calls from GAW, with no end in sight. I say we rise up and strike back!!! My latest conversation involved me talking with a nice girl name "Terry". Apparently Terry is a new hire, and not very good at giving the run-around yet. Since I've had a few practice runs with these people, I tried a new tactic...kindness. I asked for a number at which they can be reached. I was given a customer service number. An 888 number. Now here's where we get them back. Lets run up their phone bills. 888 numbers are free for us...not for them. Let's make this the Million Man Message!!! Everyone - call this number: 888-858-****. Don't just call it once, call it 10 times. Call it 10 times for each call you get from them. They'll get the picture. Either that or they'll go out of business from high phone bills. Just call it then pretend you don't speak English. Ask if their refrigerator is running, or if they have "Prince Albert" in a can. The longer you keep them on the phone, the higher THEIR bill. Let's put these jerks out of business!!!!

Great Atlantic Warranty won't stop calling
Great Atlantic Warranty won't stop calling me. I have be called repeatedly for the past month and I also get as many as three phone calls. I've tried to opt out without success, and their phone representatives hang up on me if I won't purchase a policy. The company's home base is in Florida so today I filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office in the state of Florida as well as my own state. If you want to file your own complaint, here is their address: 6413 Congress Avenue Suite 250 Boca Raton, FL 33487. 1-88*-898-**** ext. 33

Great Atlantic
By the way: Great Atlantic is been owned by Mike Zead and Greg.... Extended car warranty. I think that this business is really the bigest ripoff in the history of telemarketing. These people need to stop this all thing real quick. And as well, there is a better way to sell this product. I bought it, but when somthing went bad in my car, nobody really took care of this problem. wshsjdhk alissdhifnam uohdohasdfb dekfdbnasuiodhbs kasdb asd fjasdbhif ajh bdfhib d fjhdf jdf hisfihs fsdfibshidf sdfj shidf sdhif sidhfuorue ksdj ,msdm, pkdfnm dfjklan df fsjdnc,..,msdfon fl dfjkosfn sfk vb bdfgb bdfg dv /

Called me on a cell phone, with high pressure to purchase
They had all the right buzz, 2003 Murano, 5 year extended, for only 2350, but if I did it now, only 1950. Boca Raton, really, I don't know if these people are legit, but I think not. When I asked how they got my number and asked that they not call me again,The manager said, drop this call give me another, this is high pressure deal based on my experiance, lots of fast talk and need to act quickly,I'd suggest you stay clear, I did. When you get a call such as this, beware and ask for hard info prior to making the deal, Concerned in Massachusettes

Great Atlantic Warranty
Received the second call night before last, at dinner time, with the same exact scenario as the rest of you . . . the first time I was so mad, I was only able to ask her how she got my phone number and she immediately hung up on me. On the last call, it was a "gentleman" (right - their rudeness is unbelievable) and I tried to maintain my cool while I asked him the questions, he became very indignant. I told him, I have your name, I have your number and you're going to be reported. You all should file a complaint on "National Do Not Call List" website, I did!

Dear GreatAtlanticHelpDesk0408,
After a few states attorney generals get up your *** about the relentless communications harassment, only then will you be truly sorry.
Signed,
One of your harassment victims
Just so you know Mr...GAWHelpguy, i find it funny how you have to put that as your name because your hiding just like your *** so called company. It is a scam and you know it.
If it was a warranty place- then you wouldn't have to ask the year make and model, any factory warranty place would already have that in their computers. I find it funny you defend your company, but i get so many calls from you idiots, all from the same company and different numbers EACH time. For your information- the Do Not Call list doesn't appear to work. You *** have too much time on your hands.
No company should call numerous times a day. Not to mention at 9pm too.
If you truely believe your "company" isn't a scam- i think you would not have a problem saying who you are.
your just as shady as Great Atlantic Warranty.
Hello,
I am a Customer Service Representative at Great Atlantic Warranty. For the purpose of this forum please address me as GAWHelpguy.
I am sorry to hear that you are receiving telemarketing calls on your cell phone.
If Great Atlantic called your cell phone once we apologize. If you requested, we have added you to our company's Do Not Call List. Again, that’s our list. If other companies are calling you then make the same request of them. Our salespeople don’t get paid to harass, but to protect consumers with auto service contracts.
We are Great Atlantic Warranty, located in the state of Florida. None of these other warranty companies you have listed here have any affiliation with us.
Your frustration begins with the companies selling your personal information which you willingly provided to them in exchange for a "free" service whatever that may be. Here are a few examples how information warehouses can learn your phone number.
- Entering a contest
- Signing up for a web site or E-Mail
- Applying for a loan or mortgage
- Donating to political campaigns
- Mailing a product warranty card
- Signing up for a store or supermarket discount card or rental card
- Joining a frequent flyer or hotel points program
- A birth, marriage, or death
May I also suggest adding all of your personal phone numbers to the National Do Not Call Registry. www.donotcall.gov
