Dear GreatAtlanticHelpDesk0408,

After a few states attorney generals get up your *** about the relentless communications harassment, only then will you be truly sorry.

Signed,

One of your harassment victims

Guest

Just so you know Mr...GAWHelpguy, i find it funny how you have to put that as your name because your hiding just like your *** so called company. It is a scam and you know it.

If it was a warranty place- then you wouldn't have to ask the year make and model, any factory warranty place would already have that in their computers. I find it funny you defend your company, but i get so many calls from you idiots, all from the same company and different numbers EACH time. For your information- the Do Not Call list doesn't appear to work. You *** have too much time on your hands.

No company should call numerous times a day. Not to mention at 9pm too.

If you truely believe your "company" isn't a scam- i think you would not have a problem saying who you are.

your just as shady as Great Atlantic Warranty.

GreatAtlanticHelpDesk0408

Hello,

I am a Customer Service Representative at Great Atlantic Warranty. For the purpose of this forum please address me as GAWHelpguy.

I am sorry to hear that you are receiving telemarketing calls on your cell phone.

If Great Atlantic called your cell phone once we apologize. If you requested, we have added you to our company's Do Not Call List. Again, that’s our list. If other companies are calling you then make the same request of them. Our salespeople don’t get paid to harass, but to protect consumers with auto service contracts.

We are Great Atlantic Warranty, located in the state of Florida. None of these other warranty companies you have listed here have any affiliation with us.

Your frustration begins with the companies selling your personal information which you willingly provided to them in exchange for a "free" service whatever that may be. Here are a few examples how information warehouses can learn your phone number.

- Entering a contest

- Signing up for a web site or E-Mail

- Applying for a loan or mortgage

- Donating to political campaigns

- Mailing a product warranty card

- Signing up for a store or supermarket discount card or rental card

- Joining a frequent flyer or hotel points program

- A birth, marriage, or death

May I also suggest adding all of your personal phone numbers to the National Do Not Call Registry. www.donotcall.gov

Happy Motoring,

Great Atlantic Warranty should go out of business

I got a call from Great Atlantic Warranty recently when I just went thru 2 defective fix with my Passat. The girl asked me what makes Passat, and this was my first suspicion that they've never worked with VW. I told her I'll need to check with my dealership, at which point she said this was a final courtesey call. Then, I agreed to talk to their "Support Manager". He got down my CC information but, not my VIN since my VIN# was in the car and I refused to go into my car to look. Before I called him back, I checked with my dealership and it's not thru them, and my coverage is still good until 2013. I immediately called my CC company to be issued a differen card#. Nothing was charged in my CC. In any case, if anyone want to harrass them, I have 2 phone#s for you: Account Manager: Michael Mcgroaty: 1-86*-716-**** Support #: 1-86*-386-**** Mom in CA

Cold-called my cell phone, hung up on me

I received a computerized call on my cell phone claiming that my vehicle warranty had expired. The nature of the call and fact that they didn't mention a manufacturer or the type of my car made me quite suspicious (and a bit pissed off). I pressed 1 to speak with a representative who said "warranty department" and asked for the VIN number of my car. I said, "warranty department of what company." He seemed surprised and said, "this is GAW." "What's GAW," I asked. That's when he hung up on me. These people are crooks and should be shut down.

This *** company called warranty services out of Phoenix, AZ keep on calling both my cell phones. What they are doing is illegal and I am really on my last limb with this company.

They won't give you a call back number or any information.

I would like to report them. Now I would love to use many colorful words to express my anger

Guest

:( Same thing happened to me AND my friend two days apart. The funny part is...i don't even own a car.

Guest

these people definantly need to be shutdown- spam in my email doesn't cost me any thing but to call my cell phone (which is a private number)- it's very obnoxious :( it would be a good thing for society if these people were shutdown

Guest

The same thing happend to me, i was suspicious of the call because my theory is- if my factory warranty is out on my vehicle, they should already have that information for me. Not to mention- I would know what company I would be dealing with.

Out of all the cars i have bought in the passed, I have never received any calls that my vehicle warranty was going to expire- i only would receive notices in the mail. Never HARRASING phone calls. They call several times a day, hang up on you when you try and figure out who is trying to STEAL your money... its ridiculous.

I am glad I didn't fall for their scam- and I feel bad for those who have. Beware!!!!

Great Atlantic Warranty Rip-off

I decided to go with their warranty program in October of 2007. Within the three day period, I called to cancel the warranty, realizing that I had made a bad choice. I sent back everything they asked for and was assured that I would receive my money back. I am still waiting. It is April 2008. I call every week, several times a week and often I am put on hold, leave messages, or am just disconnected. I don't know what to do now. I suspect that I will never see a dime back of my $850 down-payment. I am so glad I did not give them all of it. Please be aware. This is not a good company to deal with. Guest

Can I just call you the GAWPHUCKUGUY? Ha, 'cause that's what your company is about, right?

Guest

I also bought this warranty, and the the person that sold it to me told me lies about what it covered. I tried to cancel my warranty and they said that they can not give me my money back.

They Even hung up on me. I have called them multiple times at several hours and they never answer. I am really pissed off, that I paid them and they ripped me off. This is a company that just takes your money, and does nothing for you.

NEVER BUY THE WARRANTY, YOU WILL JUST HAVE UNNECESSARY TROUBLES AND HEADACHES. These people never answer your messages.

Great Atlantic Warranty

It was a high pressure phone call I received and I went with it without doing research, so I began to panic after reading some of the reviews. $400 down, $100 a month for 17 months. I thought it was a good idea since I am a poor college student with a 2001 American car with 103k miles and I wouldnt be able to afford $500-$1000+ emergency repair. Im beginning to think they are not a scam though. The sales guy gave me his full name and direct number to contact him if I ever have any problems. I recently received a letter in the mail from Great Atlantic telling me to expect my warranty paperwork/package soon. Maybe a week later I received a small box which includes a couple supplements you add to your radiator, some battery terminal protectors, an oil change coupon, a booklet which explains my warranty services and a warranty card with all my information on it (including my name, car, mileage, expiration date, make-a-claim phone number) from a company called Consumer Direct Warranty Services. I googled this company and didn't find any negative reviews! I am not an employee at Great Atlantic and I plan on updating this review after I file my first claim. That will be the ultimate test to see if these guys are a scam. Until next time! ps - I can post pics of all this stuff they sent me if you don't believe I'm not an employer.

I used to work for great atlantic warranty, we sold good policies, if you didnt follow directions on your requirements, such as oil changes and a few others then you were denied service but that is only if your repair was due to neglect. But most of our policies were through american mercury one of the TOP warranty companies out there.

We were a middle man, broker basically. 2-3 WARRANTY Insurance companies would pay us to market their warranties for them.

What does that have to do with my post?

Calling me too much

Great Atlantic Warramty auto warranty. They call me ALL THE TIME! Usually, I press 3 to be removed from their list. Additionally, I've been on the DO NOT CALL list for over2 years. Some evenings, they have called me three times - in a single night! Sometimes, I press one to speak to an operator and ask to be removed from their list. They expect me to give them 2640$ over the phone! When I ask which car has an expiring warranty, they ask me for a VIN. I ask them which car has an expiring warranty. They use scare tactics to sell. They also call my cell phone which is also on a do not call list, plus I've asked them repeatedly not to waste my cell minutes and interrupt my nights.

It's funny to see how this company goes as far as to post on boards to "defend" their practices. What a joke. If anyone is pissed off enough they are located here:

6501 congress ave, ste 140, boca raton, fl 33487

Instead of a class action law suit I think assaulting them in person should be enough. See you guys soon...

Guest

The funny thing here is they admit to Voice Broadcasting.....It`s illegal. Case closed.

They no this. The admin`s no this. there software company no`s this. And yes MEPCO, there finance company no`s this.

With all this evidance online we will soon see results. I am promised by my state`s attorney general in MI that they along with all the Voice Broadcasting Warranty Companies will have consequence`s very soon. Amazing that they have gotten away with this for so long.

I have a warranty With Warranty America. The front page of there website explains that voice broadcasting is illegal.www.warrantyamerica.net

Guest

i wonder how much they pay you to keep tryin to stick up for a faulty business. Im sure you are the one leaving good feedback on the company too.

I find it funny you stick up for them when all they do is hang up on you. This is fraud and you know it.

If they aren't paying you to write little bullitens on here tryin to stick up for them- then WOW what a *** low life you are..that has nothing else to do!!! GET A LIFE

Guest

The operator with the story about what great folks they are might really believe that ***. He/she might really be that ***.

When their automatic dialer called me for the fourth time (after asking to be taken off), I went through the menu, and they gave me the song about the warranty. I asked to have the paperwork mailed to me, and they said they couldn't mail me anything until I gave a $400 downpayment.

Crooks.

Guest

Cry baby and the GAW shill won't address the fact that what they are doing is against the law. Soliciting people on the DNC is illegal.

Autodialing cellphones is illegal. Will either of you cowards explain why you feel this is not the case?

Guest

This company has called me over 5 times now in the past 2 weeks. After I have pressed 2 they still call. When is there going to be a class action lawsuit?!?!

GreatAtlanticHelpDesk0408

Original Post-"Great Atlantic Warramty auto warranty. They call me ALL THE TIME! Usually, I press 3 to be removed from their list. Additionally, I've been on the DO NOT CALL list for over2 years."

Hi, I am one of the Operations Coordinators at Great Atlantic Warranty.

Number One, we don't call you "ALL THE TIME". If you press "2" then we take you off our list. Forever.

As for multiple calls, this is the way an automated phone dialer works. You are on our lead list, the dialer calls you, you choose to hit "1" to speak with a representative or "2" to have your number removed from our list. If you wish to have your number removed from our list, then it most certainly is removed and put on another list which is used to "scrub" against all future lead lists, insuring that you are removed from our ability.

Number Two, we don't have a "3" prompt. You must have received a call from another company. Many companies buy these leads. We have probably called you and according to your wishes, removed you from our list.

Original Post- "Some evenings, they have called me three times - in a single night! Sometimes, I press one to speak to an operator and ask to be removed from their list. They expect me to give them 2640$ over the phone! When I ask which car has an expiring warranty, they ask me for a VIN. I ask them which car has an expiring warranty."

We sell warranties to consumers that want protection from high repair prices. Our reps are trying to make money selling protection. Why, would we lessen the odds by calling the same person three times?

If you know how much our policies sell for, you obviously have sat still for the sales pitch, which shows that you possibly have a vehicle that would benefit from one of our policies.

Why would you ask us which car has an expiring warranty? If our info isn't current enough, we ask questions in order to verify. The way we verify what vehicle you have and what your warranty's status is, is by asking for your VIN. We are trying to sell you protection.

Original Post-"They use scare tactics to sell. They also call my cell phone which is also on a do not call list."

We don't use scare tactics. If my wife comes home without the car and tells me the auto tech doesn't know how much our repair bill is going to be, and I don't have "repair cost protection", then I would be scared. Real scared. Wouldn't you?

Original Post-"I've asked them repeatedly not to waste my cell minutes and interrupt my nights."

Your not on our list. I'm almost sure of it.

In short, if we have called you and you have requested to be taken off our active call list, we have.

If you are still receiving calls at this point, the calls are not from Great Atlantic Warranty but another warranty company.

If you received a call and after disconnecting the call, you dial *69, that automatically takes you off of our active call list and adds you to our do not call list. This also removes you from all future active call lists.

As I said, I am an Operations Coordinator at Great Atlantic Warranty.

For the purpose of this forum please address me as GAWHelpguy. I will diligently work to find the answers you require and help bring closure.

Guest

i'm also on the do not call registry. they have called my cell from 3 different numbers.

this is a federal offense. if anyone wants to file a class action, i'm ready to sign up. to "you cry baby", i'm a licensed engineer. i know how to change my oil, i design cars for a living.

i understand that it's your job, but how could you stoop to such a level. you're breaking the law for a company that is just skimming by.

it's only a matter of time before they're taken down. for your sake, i hope you don't have anything invested in them.

Guest

These people are ***. They've latched onto me and have called my cell phone and my wife's over and over.

I took one of their calls and told them I would never do business with them. That's when the guy hung up. I immediately called the number back and was told it is no longer in service.

They are using a device that shows phony caller ID information. They called the wrong guy.

I'm a trade lawyer and this information is going straight to the attorney general. Don't believe anyone who is giving them a good review. IT'S THEM!

The folks that say they are happy don't exist. IT'S THEM!

If You really want to hit them where the heart is.... call this number as many times as they called you.. It is the managers # 1-86*-***-**** ask for RICHARD SMITH

Since He allows people to call you ,you call him.

Guest

If it is legit, how come they call you, but have to ask what your vehicle make and model is. This is another of those businesses that are just about legit, but the worst possible deal that could ever be.

They called a medical equipment repair line, for God's sake. I just hope they have their heart attack when the machine is down and scam callers like them are keeping that repair line busy.

Guest

IF it is a scam how come there is a legall tax id number for the company dumb ***

Guest

You must work for GAW, since you can't spell or use punctuation correctly. How do you people sleep at night scamming people? Oh right, your vampires, you don't sleep.

Guest

Whoever wrote that could of made it look more real by using spellcheck.

Guest

Right....good luck trying to make your cell phone spamming "company" look half-way legit.

Guest

GAW is a fraud corporation illegally using fake numbers to spam cell phones with automated messages

Guest

A GAW warranty costs $2500, at least, you *** tool. Good job paying $2500 for a warranty which saved you (maybe) $2500.

They're a bunch of spamming crooks anyway, and I doubt the validity of your story

F*#% Great Atlantic Warranty

I've been getting calls from GAW, with no end in sight. I say we rise up and strike back!!! My latest conversation involved me talking with a nice girl name "Terry". Apparently Terry is a new hire, and not very good at giving the run-around yet. Since I've had a few practice runs with these people, I tried a new tactic...kindness. I asked for a number at which they can be reached. I was given a customer service number. An 888 number. Now here's where we get them back. Lets run up their phone bills. 888 numbers are free for us...not for them. Let's make this the Million Man Message!!! Everyone - call this number: 888-858-****. Don't just call it once, call it 10 times. Call it 10 times for each call you get from them. They'll get the picture. Either that or they'll go out of business from high phone bills. Just call it then pretend you don't speak English. Ask if their refrigerator is running, or if they have "Prince Albert" in a can. The longer you keep them on the phone, the higher THEIR bill. Let's put these jerks out of business!!!!

You should be mad at sony they are the ones that sold your phone number

Mariaguadalupe Yjp

I just made my 10th call to these scumbags, to run up their phone bill. 888-858-**** I'd like to know how they got my number. The last place I listed my number was on a Wheel of Fortune contest sponsored by Sony.

Great Atlantic Warranty won't stop calling

Great Atlantic Warranty won't stop calling me. I have be called repeatedly for the past month and I also get as many as three phone calls. I've tried to opt out without success, and their phone representatives hang up on me if I won't purchase a policy. The company's home base is in Florida so today I filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office in the state of Florida as well as my own state. If you want to file your own complaint, here is their address: 6413 Congress Avenue Suite 250 Boca Raton, FL 33487. 1-88*-898-**** ext. 33

As far as the repeated phone calls, I can understand how frustrating this must be. However, just because you are receiving calls doesn't necessarily mean they are from Great Atlantic. If you requested that we take your name off of our list, we have. Once again, that’s our list. If other companies are calling you then make the same request of them. Our salespeople don’t get paid to harass, but to protect consumers with auto service contracts. Additionally, don't forget about getting your number on the national “Do Not Call” list.

i receive these calls daily....does no good to say "put on do not call list".....these people have nothing to fear from the fcc as that government agency is as lame as they come....so, if you have the time just have fun with them.....i stay on the line until i get a live person then i let them give me their spil.....i give them my old man voice and keep them talking and answering questions for 20 minutes.....even make up a phoney account to charge my billing to and when they discover it's no good they get crazy with me to get it right...then i tell them i'm 37, don't own a car, and have been yanking their chain....drives "em nuts...

I've been getting these calls on all my phones for months, they won't take me off their lists and call my cell during the day costing me minutes! They are abusive, they try to scam people out of their money, and THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED.

I like this idea of flooding them with a bunch of toll-free calls at their expense, lets do this!!!

1. Their number is 888-898-****, which they will change once this campaign starts taking effect... SO lets post any new numbers they might have, also if they call again....see if you can get their toll-free number and post it

2. 'Skype OUT' lets you call toll-free number all day long for no charge. So call them, mute them (or *** with them), wait till they hang up, and repeat. Its fun.

3. I like scripting, here is an applescript that calls them, waits till they hang up, then calls them again. Put it on a bunch of macs, let it run, its fun:

repeat

tell application "Skype"

send command "CALL +188********" script name "My Other Script"

end tell

end repeat

does anyone know an easy way to script skype on a PC?

Great Atlantic

By the way: Great Atlantic is been owned by Mike Zead and Greg.... Extended car warranty. I think that this business is really the bigest ripoff in the history of telemarketing. These people need to stop this all thing real quick. And as well, there is a better way to sell this product. I bought it, but when somthing went bad in my car, nobody really took care of this problem. wshsjdhk alissdhifnam uohdohasdfb dekfdbnasuiodhbs kasdb asd fjasdbhif ajh bdfhib d fjhdf jdf hisfihs fsdfibshidf sdfj shidf sdhif sidhfuorue ksdj ,msdm, pkdfnm dfjklan df fsjdnc,..,msdfon fl dfjkosfn sfk vb bdfgb bdfg dv /

Called me on a cell phone, with high pressure to purchase

They had all the right buzz, 2003 Murano, 5 year extended, for only 2350, but if I did it now, only 1950. Boca Raton, really, I don't know if these people are legit, but I think not. When I asked how they got my number and asked that they not call me again,The manager said, drop this call give me another, this is high pressure deal based on my experiance, lots of fast talk and need to act quickly,I'd suggest you stay clear, I did. When you get a call such as this, beware and ask for hard info prior to making the deal, Concerned in Massachusettes

Great Atlantic Warranty

Received the second call night before last, at dinner time, with the same exact scenario as the rest of you . . . the first time I was so mad, I was only able to ask her how she got my phone number and she immediately hung up on me. On the last call, it was a "gentleman" (right - their rudeness is unbelievable) and I tried to maintain my cool while I asked him the questions, he became very indignant. I told him, I have your name, I have your number and you're going to be reported. You all should file a complaint on "National Do Not Call List" website, I did!
