Great Atlantic Warrenty #5

My transmission went out on me and when trying to get it fixed I am told no they will not fix it as I didn't have my oil changed someplace where I would get a computer print out. My husband changes our oil every 2500 to 3000 miles. We have a Yukon, 2 Harley's, my daughter and sons cars that we have to change the oil in. Now I find out that I can't even get my money back as the Great Atlantic Warrenty #5 is out of business. I am so pissed that I am going to be calling the BBB and the DA of Boca Raton, Fl and see what I can do and get me an attorney. I should have been told that this company was out of business but I had to find out when I requested my money back.

How many years ago did this company go out of business? Seems like an attorney would not be interested in a case like this because there would be no $$$ in it for me.

GREAT ATLANTIC WARRANTY EXPOSED BY EX WORKER =]

GREAT ATLANTIC WARRANTY. i HAVE BEEN POSTING THIS EVERY WHERE I FOUND SOMEONE COMPLAINING ONLINE TO HELP GIVE THEM JUSTICE.

I used to work with them when they were actually a good company. I no longer work there Im a family guy. trust me I know and feel your pain i know what they do. But the person behind the bs is more political than the actual workers. They just try to sell, the people that *** are the owners and managers, and the owner is Mike Zamborous, He is linked with the mob and lives in deerfield beach florida. Their home base is in Boca Raton, He has 3 lawyers to try and protect him but the attorney generals are all cracking down on him because of his methods of selling they illegally use Random Dialers to call random people on cell phones and try to talk you into buying the warranty that is way over priced.Dont get me wrong full coverage warranties are good, but the others are bs with their terms and conditions, Cristin is mike z's right hand girl. She helps him make his quick bucks. They are also tied to an office in clearwater florida called National Business Communications, where they were also called Certified warranty services. they sell direct choice. But the thing is is mike z pays warranty companys about 500 for a policy. he sells them to you for 2195 and higher. Here lately he has been greedy and not paying the warranty companies but yet taking your money. he has to use random people to open his offices because he cannot. but the KING OF YOUR MISERY IS MIKE ZAMBOROUS He cares about nobody and takes money from everything He should be in prison for stealing sooo much of your hard earned money. His other right hand man is Richard Smith. He managed G.A.W. In Winterhaven fl. David Giorginio is the guy behind the clearwater office. All of these wanna bee greezy mobsters are self centered ***. Ill get you their phone numbers and addresses. richard smith: .863 - 557-**** . DAVID GIGINIO AND Bobby Veniro 727-538-**** .

6413 Congress Ave., Ste. 250 # Boca Raton, FL 33487thats the headquarters address.they have offices in California, Pompano fl,

They do not pay your claims, fine print ***. they get you bad. I know. I sold warranties for a year and a half with them untl some of found out what they do.

take advantage of old people,, talking them into getting their check books. its sad.

Sorry correct spelling is mike zambouros

Burn this guy. Hes so illegal that if they find him its done.

He has not been paying direct choice, or his taxes. dont get me wrong american mercury are good warranties. if thats the policy they set you up ith. so please dont not respect them . they are reputable. Just no the middle man that great atlantic warranty is. and changed their name to north american warranty solutions so people wouldnt see what g.a.w. was about on the internet. and dont forget right now they closed the office in winterhaven and all you info personal info vin numbers cc numbers are all jut layig around. Be CAREFULL.

AND THEY DO NOT use do not call lists. I know you know. but it was us writing down your name with a pencil ona paper if we felt like turning it in we did and then the lazy chick Michelle lopes the ADMINISTRATION AND VERIFICATION LADY WOULD THROW I AWAY YOU CAN FIND HER AT

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=9591****

THATS HER PERSONAL MYSPACE ACCOUNT. She was the woman you would get verified with and she ran your credit card through authorize.net and shes the one that ignores your calls when you want your refund**************

Shes a dirty bi*ch

She deserves to get sued as well.. She would actually laugh at you guys when you called back in to get your refund. 1 88* 290 **** ext 240 was her phone number.

Hey GreatAtlanticHelpDesk0408, why does your company not exist anymore if it's so reputable.

Ok I used to be with the guys daughter. She turned into a ***.

I am a Customer Service

Representative at Great Atlantic Warranty

and I would like to confirm or deny all

of your assertions. I will sort through

your post. Should I miss any of your

points, please feel free to repost and I

will try to address them.

Michael Zambouros is the

president of our company. I will also

tell you that Mr. Zambouros isn’t in the

mob. I'm sorry that this isn't the

colorful story that you are wanting to

hear.

Our selling practices are and

always have been legal as well as

ethical. The law concerning our former

marketing techniques does not change

until the end of the year, Great Atlantic

has already made changes before the law

requires. Our prices are competitive and

in most cases more affordable, therefore

we are not "way over priced" but rather

providing a service at a reasonable rate.

Great Atlantic does indeed sell

Direct Choice policies as well as others

as stated in your post. Great Atlantic is

only a selling agent for Direct Choice,

any statements that we are not fulfilling

our obligations to them or anyone else

are untrue. All claims are given equal

attention and are reviewed by the

insurance companies that issue the

policies on a case by case basis. If you

feel claims are not paid or handled

correctly it is the companies that

provide coverage you need to write to.

Great Atlantic is not in the

practice of "taking advantage" of

customers and does not nor has it ever

instructed any employee to do so, in fact

we take such actions very seriously which

results in immediate termination. If

these were your personal selling methods

it could be why you are no longer

employed by Great Atlantic.

In regards to your comments about

our do not call list, of course we keep

one active and up to date it is the law.

We have a direct method for customers to

remove themselves from marketing as well

as have representatives remove people

manually who ask to be. If a

representative chooses to ignore a

customers request this also results in

immediate termination and could also be

the reason you are no longer working for

Great Atlantic.

Great Atlantic warranty is and

always has been a reputable company that

prides itself on protecting our customers

with quality coverage.

Great Atlantic - Frauds

GAW contacted me on Sept 12, to inform me that they were unaware that my refund check bounced. Apparently, they didn’t receive any notification from their bank. Why is the company issuing bad checks? I won’t give them the benefit of the doubt about this, with all the lies I’ve been told, I firmly believe they did this on purpose. I forwarded GAW copies of the returned check. Supposedly, they are going to reimburse me for the fee my bank charged me. That would be fantastic, but can I also get the refund I’ve been waiting 6 months for? Has anyone looked at the numerous complaint websites about this company? It’s amazing how many people have been scammed by GAW. It’s a shame!

No surprise, my "refund check" bounced and I got charged $10 processing fee from my bank for the bounced check!!

This direct real number is a recording that loops "All our representatives are unavailable, please hold".

Guest

Amy and Brian, I was told that there is a lawsuit against Great Atlantic and that their lawyer is trying to settle with everyone before they close up shop. You need to contact Ed Lary at the AG's office in FL.

His number is (850) -414-****. I've been waiting since March 2008 and finally received my refund from them last week. I deposited the check ASAP and now I'm waiting to hear if it'll bounce or not. I don't trust those scam artists, I wouldn't put it past them to send me a bad check and have it bounce.

File a complaint with the BBB, the consumer service department and the AG in your state and in FL. Once they close, you'll never see your money. Oh, I spoke to Tracy too and she told me the same lies.

She's really good at lying, I don't know how these people can live with themselves. STOP BEING A VICTIM!

My Mom took out an extended auto warranty with "Great Atlantic Warranty back in Sept/Oct. 2007, she then cancelled it in November of 2007.

We have not received the $1,800 refund yet, everytime we call we either have to leave a massage and then no one return the call or we get to speak with someone and then get the run arond. This last time on 7/28/08 I called and spoke with a Tracy, she said the person that was assigned to my Mom's account left the company and it was assigned to someone else we should get a refund shortly, well it's now September and we have not seen or heard from them. I am currntly sitting on hold with them trying to yet again get this resolved.

Do anyone know thing as to HOW to get these people to respond. I (yet again) just got their answering service and (yet again)left a message for a return call.

Guest

SCAM SCAM SCAM,Like everyone else, I was offered and I was sold and than I tried to cancel and keep getting the run around. This company will not cancel my Account with Mepico who financed the warranty.

They tell you to send the box back to Consumer Direct in Redding, CA who has nothig to do with the contract agreement; so why would you have to send that back to them. The first person I spoke to Bob Scott @***.2701 told me that department would contact me back the next day because it was 3pm est time and for some reason they couldn't speak to me than. I have sent legal letters to all three companys before the 30day per was up and they keep telling me they haven't received it. This company needs to go down and someone needs to bring a class action suit against them.

No where on my contract does it say they are my agent and when trying to cancel this account everyone tells me I have to go through my agent but I can never really reach them or if I do nothing happens.

Can someone help me please? muttchild@***.com

Great Atlantic Warrantly - Unethical and Immoral

Chris, a manager at GAW, called me on August 30th and told me that they sent me my refund check on August 27th and that there was a problem with their system affecting 21 customers. I’ve waited 6 months for my refund and finally received a check on September 3rd, deposited and was notified that the check bounced. So not only am I out my refund, I’m out the service charge from the bank. This is a dubious and unethical company. I’ve called countless times and left over a hundred messages with their answering service. When I finally did get through to GAW, I spoke to both Tracy and Mindy (on two separate occasions). These two are trained liars; they are deceitful and vile just like their company. Spread the word about this company to your friends, family and co-workers - Stay away - they are frauds!

Great Atlantic Warranty ---Big spam

Rosa erkilic and her manager Gerald fax my a policy "Gold Protection Plan" and review with me what I was buying. This plan was excellent! I received my policy two weeks later, with a different plan "Direct Choice", nothing compared to the plan I thought I was buying. Now I can not get in touch with any one from this company. All the number that are on the policy are all giving me the run around. If North American Warranty Solution is the parent company, they should do something about this. Does anyone know how we can make this company go away?

Great Atlantic - scam artist and thief - Stay Away

On March 7, 2008, I purchased an extended warranty with Great Atlantic Warranty for $2288. I decided to cancel the policy on March 24th. As requested, they received written notification from me on March 27th. They then told me I would get my refund in 30 days, then it turned into 60 days then 12 weeks. I’ve made countless calls to the answering service and have not received one call back. I filed a complaint with the BBB on July 18th, and Great Atlantic claims that they sent me a check for the refund. Currently, Great Atlantic is “investigating” and checking to see if the check was ever cashed. I encourage all who have been scammed by Great Atlantic to file a complaint with the BBB and to call the Attorney General’s office in FL. We need to stop these thieves from victimizing others!

GAW lied to me about what was covered

I decided to purchase an extended warranty against my better judgment. After receiving many phone calls and mailings, I finally talked with John Sanue about what the actual warranty covered and how, exactly, it worked. I drive a car that is prone to a very specific failure: blown head gasket and subsequent catastrophic engine failure due to OVERHEATING. I asked John if this very specific situation would be covered. His reply was "yes, it would be covered.". "The whole engine would be replaced with no deductible under the warranty?" I asked. "Yes, the whole engine." he replied. I talked with him further and asked if there would be ANY reason why it would not be. Anything at all I could possibly do to void my warranty. He informed me my mileage must be verified my having the oil changed soon by an ASE qualified mechanic to establish the maintenance record. That's it. At least SIX LIES were told to me by this company: 1: In accordance with "exclusions" page 4 paragraph 2 of my protection kit, "OVERHEATING, OF ANY KIND" is NOT COVERED. 2: In accordance with "exclusions" page 4 paragraph 2 of my protection kit, "GASKETS" are not covered. 3:In accordance with "limits of liability" page 8 of my protection kit, maximum coverage for an engine is $3500. My engine would cost in the neighborhood of $5000, not including installation. 4: In accordance with "maintenance requirements" page 4 paragraph 1 of my protection kit, "purchaser must have vehicle serviced by a commercial service facility". In other words, changing my own oil would void the warranty. This should have been explained when I asked what would void my warranty. I am an aircraft mechanic... I am fully capable of changing my car's oil! Plus, my vehicle service manual requires that I use full synthetic oil. A full synthetic oil change at my dealership is $125. I will not pay $125 for a simple oil change. It's NO DIFFERENT than a regular oil change, only the type of oil is normally $2 more per quart. 5: I called John the second I received and read my warranty package. He immediately lied again. He told me that overheating is covered, it's just if it gets low on coolant, then it's not covered. I told him the specific page that said it would not be covered. 6: He told me he would call "first thing" the following day, when he had the reference right in front of him. He has not called. He has not returned a subsequent message I left. I am handling this diplomatically and expect a full refund of my deposit of $750.

Not affiliated with your Car Manufacturer

They claimed they were contracted by my Car Manufacturer, but they were not. When I tried to cancel, within 30 days as they said would be easily accomplished, they said I had to fax a long distance number. I doubt it would work. Their contact info are these numbers if anyone needs: (866)550-****, which is their solicitation and finance departments, (888)858-****, which is their listed number that does not seem staffed, and that fax number is (954)492-****. Hope that helps someone. btw, I cancelled my credit card and filed a dispute immediately. Do not do business with this company.

How can action be taken against this company?

This is regarding a sales call about an extended warranty. How can legal action be taken against this company? I cancelled within 24 hours they have not refunded the $400 deposit. They have diverted their calls to an answering service and countless calls have not been returned. Total scam,(from my experience and others) how do we stop them. They need to be prosecuted and brought to justice. This started about a year ago, Justin ran the credit transaction unauthorized by me and withdrew $400 from my account and that caused many costly problems with the account. What action can be taken?

I'm in the midst of filing complaint forms with the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney Generals of Maryland (because I was in MD when Great Atlantic Warranty solicitated) and Florida (since GAW is based in FL). Also, I've contacted the credit card company with whom I made the warranty purchase.

They will be filing a dispute against GAW as well.

Good luck to you. Hopefully with all of us taking action, we get our money back soon.

Guest

How did they charge your card without your authorization? You stated you cancelled, that means you placed the order and gave the credit card info and had a change of heart.

Doesn't sound like they charged your card without authorization. I find that most of these copmplaints are not quite what they are made out to be.

If you gave your info and changed your mind, so be it. Don't cry fraud, that is an entirely different scenario.

Great Atlantic is a total scam!!! I purchased an extended warranty from them and they rejected a claim submitted from my dealership. I've tried numerous times to speak with a representative and all I get is their answering service. I can't get my money back even though I've complied with all their requests. For anyone in the same predictment as I am I urge you to contact the Better Business Burea to report them. They need to be stopped. These people cannot and should not get away with taking hardworking people's money. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THEY ARE FAKES!!!

Great Atlantic Warranty

I requested an audit of all the payments I paid so I can compare the amount to my records. I never received an statement and when I did call I was placed on hold. What are they hiding? I also requested a pro-rated refund, also not receiving a reply. I need some warranty covered work done and I refuse to pay for it first and try to get reinbursed that may that years to recover. I'm considering filing a complaint with our state attorney office which may or may not help if GAW is no longer in business

Harassing phone calls for sure. Fraud?

All my interactions with Great Atlantic Warranty, Inc. point to unethical business practices if not outright fraud. Computer dialed cold calls. Annoying, not illegal. But, a couple of things make their calls stand out. First, the computer message implies that the call is from the manufacture of your car. I called my dealer. They had never heard of Great Atlantic Warranty, Inc. and told me that they are probably a fly by night organization that will take your money today and disappear tomorrow. Second, they call again, and again and again. You can select the option to take your number off the list but it doesn’t appear to help. Third, they are calling my home number which is on both the Texas and National no call lists. Fourth, they are calling several numbers internal to the company at which I work. I’m not sure where they got these numbers but it’s not likely they were obtained legally. Or maybe they are just calling all the numbers in the Texas area codes. High pressure sales. Their sales persons approach was aggressive enough and deceptive enough to me mad. But others might not see the nonsense and sign up for something they don’t want, need or can afford. The phone sales person ask for my credit card number at my first sign of interest. Honest businesses don’t ask for money without fully describing their services. The products they sell are from a large and I assume respectable insurance company, Mercury Insurance group. After many attempts, I found a path through their computer driven menus, they obviously don’t like phone calls, and got to talk with a real person. When I explained my concerns and ask to speak to a manager I was told that it wasn’t their companies responsibility and if I didn’t like it I should sue them. In summary, Great Atlantic Warranty Company is using business practices that make a strong case for the company not being on the up and up

For a live contact at Great Atlantic Warranty please call Mr. Mark Owens at 954-708-****. Mr. Owens is one of those who call and call anc call you wanting you to buy Extended Auto Warranties. Mr. Owens called my phone well over 9 times within 45 minutes. Sometimes I was contacted every minute for 5 minutes. I have done research on GAW and have found that they are the focus of at least one State Attorney General. I have taken this to the next level and have filed complaints with four other AG's. In some of their initial calls they identified themselves as Ford Motor Corp and AAA.
